An Ode to the Tie Collectors

How many tie boxes do you actually have at home? I am asking because I have a lot of them. And since we have a lot of tie boxes, it shows that the number of neckties that we have at home has gone from the normal number of neckties to necktie hoarding.

O yes, we have heard a lot of things about collectors. People consider them crazy, because they store a lot of things without any need (I can tell you that of all the ties that I have there are a few that I never used but for two to three times), people call them extravagant buyers because they buy things that they do not need at all, people call them inconsiderate because they do not pass the useless items to other people who can actually use them and people call them lazy and untidy for letting years old mess occupy their home.

Yet:

I have been a tie collector and I will always remain, even Freud cannot stop me from collecting them. He said that collectors are people who want to compensate for the loss of bowel control and they do so by retaining the items that they like.

• The necktie is a style statement. Get it, with hairstyles to makeup to high heels and not to mention all the silky, glittery and charming dresses, women have reserved the style and swag to themselves. Men have got a few things left and a necktie is one of them. This why we have so many different knots with so many styles and why we love the fall of a tie ending on a nice point pointing towards somewhere in the south: manliness?
• From style statement to masculinity! Men also love ties because this is one piece of garb or gear the men use and ladies do not use as much as them. I mean literally, from cigarettes to bikes to dressing to the extent of using razors, women use all that men use. So, this meager piece of garb actually gives us a sense of masculinity and freedom.
• The game of finding the perfect tie for a perfect day is one big reason why we have neckties. From the formal parties to convocations to engagement days to the most special day of a man’s life to the last day of life, we select ties and the thrill of choosing them is a good reason of storing them.

So because of all these right reasons to store and collect neckties, you would love to have them in abundance. Keep them in necktie gift boxes or the cheap wholesale tie boxes, it is totally up to you.
